Miss Layla-lee was in the studio this week for her newborn session, at just 8 days new, she was such a cutie, and totally rocked her photography session. She wasn't keen on 1 of the set-ups, but that's totally ok, newborn babies are the boss! I will try for poses and props but at the end of the day every baby is different, and not all babies do all poses or like all of my props ( as much as I love all my props they don't all do ha ha ) I tried a couple of times but she went ... Nope... not today and that is totally fine as newborns are the boss babies. But Miss Layla-lee did amazing job, we got through 7 set-ups which is awesome. I really loved the colours for Layla's newborn session, pinks with white's and cream's, just beautiful! And Layla-lee slept for most of her session too, she had a couple of awake moments which I also took photos of, they are always good to look back on too.
Jenna, Layla-lee's mum, was in the studio last month for her Maternity Photo's, so I have been very lucky to capture these magica moments for Jenna and her family. Jenna got lifestyle parent photos, and I just really love this image above, you can really see that connection between mother and her baby. Jenna is wearing one of the gowns from my client wardrobe, this gown looks amazing in parent photos.
After each newborn session I do up a sneak peek on my facebook and instagram pages so you can see your sweet litle baby's photo, because let's face it, we all get so excited to see the images after your photography session, this way you get a sneak peek and can see how your gallery will look. Straight after your studio session you get to see your images on the big screen, it is really amazing to see my clients reactions to their images.

So today I had the pleasure meeting Joanne, Elexis, Tatiana and Lincon at there mini Newborn Family session. Little Lincon is just 6 weeks old, he's such a cutie and the girls were so sweet you could clearly see they loved their little brother.
I had my son with me at Lincon's Newborn family session, he was my little assistant capturing behind the scenes photos and videos for me he was such a good helper and kept the girls busy when I was focusing on mum and bubs photos.
These lifestyle poses can be added to any newborn session instead of posed family and sibling photos.

I do get alot of people asking when is the best time to book in their session. The answer is in advance... As I do a range of Photography sessions, I do get booked up, and I don't want you to miss out on having your session at your preferred time.
For Newborn Photography Bookings the best time to book is when you come into your 2nd trimester as I only take on about 6-8 babies a month. The best ages to photography newborns are when they are between 5-14 days old as that's when they are all curly and sleepy. The older bubs gets the more awake time they have.
Maternity Photography Sessions are best booked in between when your 12-20 weeks pregnant. Your session will take place when your between 32-36wks pregnant. I usually only book in about 4-6 Maternity Sessions a month.
Children Photography Sessions, depends on what type of children session your wanting to book. A cake smash is best book in when your little is a newborn, especially if your wanting a weekend session as they are limited. If your wanting a sitter session then as soon as your little one starts sitting shoot me a message and I will let you know which times I have available as you never know when your little one will start sitting. And if you have a gift voucher from your newborn photography session with me, you can book in a tentive date at your newborn session, then as soon as your baby starts sitting contact me and we can change the date if needed. If you have older children your wanting to update their photos get in touch as soon as you know to want to do this and we can chat about my availablity.
Family Photography Sessions, family photos are usually done on the weekends in the late afteroon, and weekend sessions are limited so these are best booked in as soon as you know you want you family photos. And as the weather starts to cool down my weekends will get booked out fast as the cooler months are the best time for Portrait photos. I do take on some week day afternoon for family photos as well.
Boudoir Photography Sessions, is best booked in advance, as I mainly only take Boudoir Bookings for week days during school hours. Weekend sessions are available but will definitely need advance bookings for those as they are a session type I need to arrange a babysitter. :)
