Lifestyle or Posed Newborn Session?

I have had a few people ask me why I have two different types of newborn sessions and what is the difference...

They are both a newborn session, it's the same right?.... wrong lol

I have always done posed newborn sessions, lifestyle wasn't a thang when I first started photography. I do very much love the posed sessions, but since getting into lifestyle sessions too now I do love them too... so I thought i'd offer them both.

What's the difference? I will tell you...

Lifestyle Newborn Sessions are more relaxed, they are all about the baby and his or her's family members, snuggles with parents, family shots, sibling shots and it is easier to get the sibling shots while baby and sibling are on the bed because some big brothers and sisters don't like to hold their new baby brother/sister for long so having them both on the bed works wonders.

and a simple photo of all hands on deck like above is a great way to get all family members in, it's so simple yet such an amazing photo.

Snuggles snuggles and more snuggles with your baby..... even tho no one is looking at the camera in the photo above it is still one of my favourites.... why? because you don't need to be looking at the camera all the time to take a great photo, capturing that connection... that bond with your brand new baby is what it's all about. ( and mums dads love this too hehehe i find most dads only want 1 maybe 2 photos with bubs, but having these types of photos dads are keen for a couple of extra shots with bubs. )

I still capture those little detail shots of baby's hands and feet...

Lifestyle sessions go for a shorter time then posed sessions as there is maybe 1 prop and the rest of all done on the bed, cocoon chair, and parents holding bubs in front of the large window.

Posed Newborn Sessions, are all about props and lots of poses. I have about 3 props set up for a posed session, plus I do a fully wrapped up pose like the photo above then try for the tucked up pose like the photo below, these are all done on the bean bag, then if you like the naked baby images we do them or ones with bubs in one of my cute little outfits

we have the potato pose where bubs is all wrapped up like the image below, your baby has multiple wraps, plus supports under and around them to make sure they can't move plus me and parents spot them too your baby is always safe.

plus we have the prop shots

Then of course parent and sibling photos

Detailed shots are apart of posed sessions too those tiny little hands, and tiny toes....

Posed Sessions do take longer then lifestyle sessions, because there is more involed with the posing, and not all babies like every pose, so if they don't like it thats ok just change it up or move along to the next one.

At both sessions babies do require extra feeds, how many? that depends on the baby.

And if you would like photos while you feed your baby, we can do those one too.

Posed session packages include prints, depends which package you choose to what type of print is included, some have wood mount prints, and then Platinum package has a couple of options including a ablum, a canvas and a couple of other options. Packages start at $695

Lifestyle session packages there is two options and the Bundle of Joy collection includes an album. Packages start at $495

I do run promotions throughout the year. so keep an eye on my fb & insta pages for those :)

Booking for either session is best done while your still pregnant, as I only take on a limited amount of sessions per month and spots do fill up fast.

How do I book in a newborn session? Thats easy, we book in your due date and I always leave some free days a couple of weeks either side of your due date to allow time for bubs to arrive, so once he/she arrives just shoot me a msg/email/txt to let me know and then I will let you know what days are free and then book in that date :) A non refundable deposit is due at time of booking to secure you session.

I hope that has explained the difference between the two newborn sessions, if you would like more information on either newborn session click the links below or you can contact me at lifesmagicalmomentsphotography@outlook.com
